  • Solo show scheduled at City of Reno in August.
  • Work published in Color 1, ed. David Carter. Bright Books.
2011
  • Group show “The Art Center Permanent Collection of Mesa State College, Plus 11,” curated by Camille Silverman, at Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction, Colorado, August.
  • Chosen by the City of Reno, Nevada’s Public Arts Program for an upcoming exhibition.
  • Participated in the juried Affaire in the Garden in Beverly Hills, California, May 21–22.
  • Participated in the juried Downtown Denver Art Festival in Denver, Colorado, May 27–30.
  • Towson ARTS Collective, Towson Maryland. Two paintings chosen for exhibition curated by Sarah McCann: “The Process of Peace”
  • Work acquired for the permanent collection of the Mesa County Libraries (Colorado).
 2010
  • Invited to join the Art on the Corner committee for Public Art in downtown Grand Junction, Colorado.
  • Invited to teach Drawing Fundamentals at Mesa State College.
  • Commissioned to design interpretive signage for a Native American Ute Learning Garden at Mesa County Fairgrounds with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Colorado State University Extension.
2009
  • The Art Center, Highland Park, Illinois. Work presented in the exhibition entitled “Word & Image”
  • Four awards of excellence from American Advertising & Design.
  • Blue Pig Gallery, Palisade Colorado. Work presented in the Colorado Mountain Winefest exhibition.
  • Interview with Arjen Noordeman of ElasticBrand. He is also creator of CranbrookDesign.com. The interview delves into the how and why behind the creation of CranbrookDesign.com as well as what motivated him to keep working at it, even after a few setbacks over the years.
 2008
  • Award of Excellence from Graphic Design USA In-House Design competition.
  • Commissioned to provide new branding campaign concepts for a client of Cranium360 marketing firm in Colorado.
  • Commissioned to design logotype, identity system for Stylish Affairs, event planners and promotions in Los Angeles.
  • Commissioned to design logo, identity system, and website for The Arts Edge in Boston.
  • Work chosen to appear in HOW Magazine. Two In-HOWse design awards.
  • Hired as Adjunct Professor at Mesa State College in Colorado, teaching Typography, Advertising Design, and Yoga.
2007
  • Award of Excellence. University & College Designers Association.
  • Commissioned to design logo and brochure for McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area in western Colorado.
  • Commissioned to design viewbook materials for The Boston Conservatory.
  • Four Awards of Excellence from Graphic Design USA In-House Design competition.
  • Commissioned to provide design concepts for BRC Imagination Arts experience design studio in Los Angeles.
2006
  • Commissioned to design logotype, identity system for Adam Wheeler Design, architects in Los Angeles.
  • Two Awards of Excellence from Graphic Design USA.
  • Promoted to Art Director | Brand Manager at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
  • Hired as Adjunct Professor at University of Southern California (USC).
  • Sappi Printer of the Year Regional Award with Anderson Printing.
  • Guest Critic at Woodbury University in Burbank, California.
  •  Attended TypeCon in Boston, Massachusetts.
2005
  • Interview with Meredith Davis, posted at CranbrookDesign, in honor of her recent receipt of the AIGA Medal.
  • Experimental typeface design AngleScript chosen for inclusion in traveling Alphabet exhibition.
  • Award of Excellence. University & College Designers Association.
  • Commissioned to design Nothing Held Back, a WriteGirl anthology of creative writing by girls and their mentors.
  •  Attended the University & College Designers’ Association Conference in San Diego, California.
2004
  • Award of Excellence. University & College Designers Association.
  • Guest speaker at North Carolina State University College of Design, Raleigh, North Carolina.
  • Guest speaker at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.
  • Work chosen to appear in HOW Magazine’s 2004 International Design Annual.
  • Work published in Communication Arts May/June issue in an article entitled Design for the Public Good.
  • Initiated and advising a new extra-curricular reading/discussion seminar for graphic design students called Design5Thirty at Utah State University.
  • Organized an exhibition of the New York Type Directors Club 2003 award-winners at Utah State University in collaboration with Henry Brimmer of Southern Utah University.
  • Work exhibited at Utah State University's Tippets Gallery in Fresh : A New Faculty Exhibition
2003
  • Panelist at Art Center College of Design's Business Dialogue Series.
  • Award of Excellence. University & College Designers Association.

1999
  • 22nd Annual American Center for Design 100 Show award.
  • Hired as Senior Graphic Designer at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.

1998
  • Work published in WHEREISHERE (Laurie Haycock, Scott Makela, Lewis Blackwell).
  • Work exhibited at Cranbrook Academy of Art's Graduate Degree Show and Summer Exhibition.
  • Commissioned by Cranbrook Academy of Art to design and produce the academy’s website.
  • Presentation at Fabrica of Benetton, Italy.

  • Work published in Matiz, a Mexican graphic design journal.
  • Hired as in-house graphic designer at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
1997
  • Commissioned to design ads for a Nike: Asia campaign with Scott and Laurie Makela in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
